Hello,

I am in great need of the following items for my 1971 Blazer:

1. Rear Seat Front Brackets - It appears that this Blazer never had the front brackets for the rear seat, as the mounting holes still have plugs in them. I can't put the baby back there until the seat is securely attached!

If anyone has a set, or knows someone who sells them, I'd greatly appreciate it. I don't feel comfortable using an electrical conduit bracket.

Go to http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=78779&highlight=rear+seat+brackets, and scroll down near the bottom of the thread to see a picture of the brackets I'm looking for.

2. The passenger side air vent cable and handle are missing, so the air vent can't be opened, so I need one of these.

Thanks a ton!

I am still looking for these parts if anyone has them.

1. Rear seat front brackets
2. Passenger side air vent handle with cable

Thanks!

Cable?
Are you talking about the lever/cable in the dash control?

A/C or non, what do you have?

It's the '71 Blazer with factory A/C, but the air vent handle and cable I'm referring to, is to open the vent in the kick panel.

I need the rear seat front brackets the most though.

Thanks!

I'd also like to find a spare tire carrier...the type that mounts the spare tire inside, behind the back seat.

So the new list of items wanted is:

1. Rear seat front brackets
2. Passenger side air vent handle with cable
3. Spare tire carrier (inside type, behind rear seat)

Thanks!

The vent on the passenger side kick panel usually opens using a vacuum hose and diaphram, not a cable. I have the whole assembly if you need, you can also get them from LMC.

Ah! I see. That's interesting.

That explains the dangling vacuum hose, and the constant hissing from it when the engine is running.

I didn't know that.

I'll look for this in the LMC catalog, but how much would you sell yours for?

Thanks!

Clay

P.S. I found and purchased a set of rear seat front brackets from Frank's Pick-M-Ups.

P.S.S I'm still looking for the inside spare tire mount

If your truck had AC originally, there's also a flap with vaccum diaphram and brackets inside the passenger side cowl and engine compartment. Do you need that stuff too or just the diaphram and bracket on the inside the kick panel? I'll have to dig around a bit more to find the cowl parts, but I do have the interior diaphram and bracket.

The diaphrams are $30 from LMC (They don't have the mounting bracket though). I wouldn't mind an even trade depending on how much the Franks place wants for a set?

The truck did come with factory A/C.

I'll have to check, but I do believe I'll need the diaphram. I know there isn't any bracket there...just a couple of mounting holes, so I'm guessing the diaphragm is missing too.

I'll also check around the engine compartment.

Do you know how these items work with a Vintage Air sytem? I'm planning to upgrade at some point.

Thanks!

Clay

If you look down inside your cowl, you'll see a big divertor flap and and diaphram connected to it inside the engine compartment right above where the heater hoses enter. Those are what I had to dig around for.

The diaphram and bracket on the interior are what I have. I'm only missing the thin metal rod that connects the diaphram arm to the door\flap. You'd have to find or make one of those. It's just a 1/8" rod with each end bent 90 degrees. I might be able to find one of those two.

I think the vintage air systems completely bypass all the factory stuff. I'm not sure though.

I haven't had an opportunity to check, but I'm pretty sure all I need is the stuff inside the cabin...the diaphram and bracket you have. If you could round up one of the rods, what would you let this all go for?

$25 sounds great.

How shall I get you paid? If you need to send personal info, just shoot me an email.

Thanks!
