Price includes a set of decent SWB bedsides, a double walled hard top and all the hard core gear listed.
Only thing I'm pulling out of it is the CO2 tank.

I thought it might be a good idea to widen my buyer base, that's what I'm asking opinion's about.

Do I sell it as a turn key hard core wheeler?

...Or do I change out some sheet metal and present it as more of a week end warrior kind of ride?

On here we understand what it will cost to build a rig like yours. We also know that sheet metal will get bent if you use it hard.

Out there most want a nice exterior and don't understand the other stuff. most people wont pony up that kind of cash for a dented rig.

It all depends on how fast you need to sell and how wide you want your base. If you can hold onto it for a while I would try it as is first and see how it goes.

offtopic I know, but don't you have some youtube videos of this in action? that would probably help with the sale... but more importantly I want to see them (again?) not sure if it's yours I saw.

Not a bad price knowing what it takes to build one. Might be hard to sell right now though. Does it come with the new windshield? ;)

Yeah I have a few, nothing great though.
Couple more on photobucket too, I'll post up links to em soon.

True, I could go on and on about how it would take three times the money to build one but it just wouldn't matter, times are tough for sure.

Windshield? Yep. :D

i want to see those vids to. sorry dont have any money but as for advise i would sell it as a hardcore crawler. guys that want a weeknd warrior or a semi DD wont drop 12k for a dented rig. only us folk know what it costs to build a bad a$$ SOB like that.

Thanks, I think you've got a good point. :wink1:

Human nature is a lot like the Ms. America Pageant....

We'd like to think it's what's on the inside that counts, but ultimately it's the outer beauty that everyone notices.

I think you'll have a lot more interest at those prices if the body was straight with some fresh paint, and the underneath and engine compartment were nicely detailed (de-mudded and spot painted).

Personally, I disagree that the buyer will be a "hard-core" guy.... someone who perceives themselves as hard core is NOT going to buy a turnkey truck. All his buddies will tease him mercilessly for buying his way into the sport.

I believe that the real buyer will be someone who wants a capable offroad truck, that they don't have to worry about breaking every time out. It might even be a "family guy" who wants to take his wife and kids along for a fun day on the trails, with a cooler full of food and sodas. My guess is that it will be someone who specifically likes the 69-72 era trucks too... I don't believe a late-model K5 guy is going to be willing to pay the premium for the early body style.

What premium? That part of the body is long gone on this rig... The only premium left is the drivetrain.

...the lines are still there, you opposed to a little patina are ya?

As listed in the first post, there's a good set of SWB bedsides included.
Also have fenders and a hood that could be included for the asking.

$10K for CK5 brethren.

Just fabbed up a set of shock hoops for it, they'll be finished & painted prior to sale of course.

Bump...cuz I'd hate to see a kick a$$ rig like this get parted out.

Thanks AJ, don't really wanna do it either.

So...today I'm going up to the yard and bringing back another front clip to install.

Seeing no one seems to be any too excited about it in rock crawler form, I'll tame it down to weekend warrior status. :smirk:

Things have changed some, stumbled into a great deal on a new truck and having a little extra cash to help out the down payment is always beneficial.

So given that, the motivation to sell is now elevated.

If anybody cares to pm me with a reasonable offer, ya never know... :deal:

Another step closer to road warrior status, it's now wearin' a new set of 37" MTR's & H2's.

Brought the fenders home,
once those are installed it's install some good side marker lenses and then it's off the the mech. for inspection. :waytogo:

Any takers yet? :deal:

The white hard top in the pic with the fenders is the one going with it.
