Just out of curiosity, is the 72 and older 3/4 ton full floater rear axle a 12 bolt? I believe it is a third member axle. Can anyone verify this?

The predessesor to the 14 bolt actually had 10 bolts w/ a drop out third member and a removable cover. It is a eaton style and refered to as the eaton rear or by RPO numbers, H052 and H072, with the only difference between the two being the brake size and the H072 having a thrust pad to prevent the ring gear from deflecting away from the pinion. Used detroit lockers (called no-spins) are the only traction aid available.

The dana 60 only had 10 bolts on it's cover also.
