EDIT: SPARK PLUGS LOOK FOULED. GONNA REPLACE THOSE AND REPORT BACK :)

72 blazer, new mechanical fuel pump and filter about 6 months ago.

Just redid the rear suspension. Had to drop the gas tank about 3-4 inches (enough to squeeze my hand in there) to install shackle flip. Before I dropped the tank, I disconnected the 2 hoses on the drivers side (filler hose and another smaller one that goes to gas cap area, I believe). Re-connected 2 hoses afterwards, and tightened gas tank back up. Other than that, didn't touch any hoses or mess with the fuel system at all. Did not accidentally cut any lines.

Went to start it today after sitting for about 3 weeks. Took a few tries, but that was expected. Seemed to idle pretty well for a few minutes. Backing out of the driveway, I noticed a lack of power and a bit of sputtering. Let my foot off the gas and it died. Bunch of cranks, didn't turn on again. Gave it some gas and it fired up.

Now when I start it up, it idles pretty rough and dies if I let off the gas. Pretty damn sure it's a fuel related issue, but gonna check the spark plugs in a minute to see if they're fouled.

Also, don't know anything about the rest if hoses coming out of the tank (emissions? vacuum hoses?) but a couple of those little rubber pieces look old and cracked where they go into that a vertical tube..?

Yep, it was the spark plugs. Haven't replaced them since I've had the truck (a year now) - who knows the last time they were changed. Started right up with new plugs and I think it's running smoother than it ever has :waytogo:

Now time for the first oil change.... haha

A couple of times when my truck was running badly I checked the MSD cap and rotor and found they were REALLY caked-up with green corrosion. I never logged tons of miles on my truck, but I guess it's just the moisture that couldn't escape causing all the issues..... in any case, a fresh cap and rotor would always get the idle back to silky smooth.

Sometimes it really IS the little things that make the difference! :)
