72 Blazer tailgate missing hinge post

My 72 CST is missing the bolt(?) on the side of the tailgate is missing. Is this piece threaded on? There is a perfectly round hole where the post should be. I have searched all over the internet and can't find it. Can anyone help me out?? Thanks

is the hole you are talking about located in this picture:

I am a noob when it comes to first gen blazers, but if i can't help, i am sure someone will chime in that can

Hi and thanks for responding! The hole is located where the tailgate support attaches to the tailgate. It's like the whole thing just fell out.

I just went and checked and it is definitely held in there from the inside. Only way for me to check would be to take apart the tailgate itself. Haven't done that myself and am guessing it would take some cutting/removing of welds.

Makes me think it is supposed to be a part of it permanently.
