I just bought a 72 cst blazer whith out ac. and i was woundering if anyone knows if they came whith out it. it has the 1z8410 cheyenne trim code which i understand is the cst option .but ive never seen one whithout ac.

I had a '71 CST K-5 Blazer many years ago,it didn't have A/C either...guess its just an factory option up here, and not too many vehicles had A/C ordered from the factory back then ..further south A/C is practically standard equipment, not ordering A/C in the warmer states would be like deleting the heater in New England!.......................................................................................................................................................................................................it did have a tach dash I should have kept and sold though,I could have got as much as I paid for the truck for it..:doah:..wish I kept that one,it had a 4 speed and a nice running original 350 ..I got it cheap because some doofus put a 3:08 rear axle in it and the front one had 3.73"s factory...and they couldn't figure out why it refused to move in 4wd and made horrible crack-snapping noises if you gave it more throttle with the hubs locked!.....the PO said "I think the transfer case is junk"...

Everything was a option. You could have bought the truck topless without extra seats if you wanted. Ac was a mostly southern thing to have. My truck came from San Francisco without ac. Of course being 40 years old anything could have been swapped in or out by now as well.

Both 72 CST's we had, had A/C. But like mentioned earlier, everything was an option back then. Also IDK if that is a CST code or not, but I have seen lots of trucks with CST badges that weren't CST's.

The vin also matched .but i gess it dosent hurt to do more research. Is there any other place besides the tag in the glove box. that would tell you . The truck is bone stock and un molested it even has the original push button radio. I gess it dossent matter. But it would be nice to know.thanks

The only place codes are is the glove box and on the driver side door opening under the door striker. If the two vins match and the truck looks unmolested, the original owner opted not to pay for the ac option. I'm not sure on the glove box codes that might have the code for factory ac though. I know on my old Chevelle the previous owner took off the ac and put in manual steering to get some more power out of the engine.
