We have a 72 k-5 we are parting out. Pretty much the only thing left in the really rough body and the drivetrain that runs. 350/350/205/12bolt and 44 with the flat top knuckle. No one seems to be interested in the drivetrain and frame. I have been thinking about turning it into a truggy, but I don't want to put any money into it. Would it be possible to get by to make it fun for what it is for little to no money?

you definitely can. run some 35s, weld the diffs and wheel the piss out of it. i wish i woulda started off with something not as nice as mine...it pains me to see all the work i've done to mine and how awesome it used to look after the paint and before the wheelin' started.

Yeah we have the hardtop left, the windshield frame and doghouse. I just thought if we sold the hardtop and done a cheapo lift on it with some 33's or 35's and have fun. We are looking to buy a farm and thought it would make a fun field truck :D. We have some more parts we could sell off of it. I'll tell ya if you part one out there is money to be made on it. I got around $160 on ebay for the gas tank filler tube.:eek1: I guess the guys with fleetsides want them to make it look factory when they put the gas tank under the bed. But like I said before no one seems to be interested in the drivetrain so I figured I would have fun with it.

are you interested in selling the frame, and the top minus drivetrain? i can't find either 1 around me anywhere and was about to start planning on puttin my 69 on a 2nd gen frame, i would much rather use the correct frame. i have several '80 k5's i would swap, if your wanting to put the drivetrain in sum'n or i have 1 that i could leave the 3/4 ton axles in it for your motor, trans and transfercase w/ the frame and top, or i will buy it outright. i'll a get pm out to ya..

edit; your not a member, so i can't pm ya...let me know if interested and we can swap phone #'s to discuss the deal over the phone...also let me see what kind of drive i'm lookin at!

edit2 wow 7 1/2 hr drive...is frame and top in good shape any pics?
