Got any part #s for the rad hoses? Those look very nice, much better than the rubber crap I've got on mine...

Kinda spendy, but you can get them in different lengths. I got the 48" kit with the ends. 48" covered both the upper and lower hose. Here's the selection: LINK
 
Spent some time with Fuel Injection Specialists in San Antonio this afternoon to work thru some final details on the air-fuel delivery set-up. :deal:

The current setup I have on hand is an Edelbrock Pro-Flo. I had plans to upgrade to the Pro-Flo2 setup because its flash tunable and has a few other updates. However, they're not big fans of the Edelbrock computer and tuning ability. They're going to do some research to see what I can keep sensor-wise from the current setup. Based on their recommendations, it looks like I'll going the route of the Accel Thruster DFI for the engine management. They have a dyno on site as well. So, when it's time, they'll be able to help me get it completely dialed in.
 
good deal.... It's always good when the shop puts a little skin in the game. When you use their preferred parts they have a better chance at getting you running the way you want it.

Sounds like you must have gotten all the plumbing finished and cooling system, etc? Is this basically going to be a running truck again once they finish the fuel injection, or is there still some other project remaining? :dunno:

Get some video of the truck on the dyno! That's not something we get to see very often!

Plumbing is basically done. The engine management is the last big rock to move. Just details and some electrical from there to wrap it up. I'd like to say barring anything unforeseen, late spring??

Dyno video will definitely be posted.
 
UPDATE 5/27/13 - The 'SLOWER than Ben's build' build. Well... the truck isn't going to run this spring and it's unlikely that it will this year. Some life changes over the past year necessitated that I get a new house (read as MY house). It's all good and my kids are better for it. Anyway...haven't done any updates here because I've been busy getting situated in the house. One of my favorite features?? THIS:

Need to get the front clip put back on the truck and it will be coming home on a flatbed. Will be nice to work on it in my garage as opposed to packing up tools and traveling across town to work on it at the shop. I can't complain though, the owner has been very good to me.

On a sidenote, I got a new sidekick too:

Won't be many significant updates here in 2013. Uncle Sam demanded my entire truck budget. It was brutal :doah:

2-car garage for the truck build, and a spot for the daily driver? What a dream come true that would be for me. You may not be happy about the slow progress but having the truck at your own place will let you tinker around on it whenever you find a few minutes. You might be surprised at the progress you can make on the "little stuff" while you wait for the big ticket items to arrive.

As Greg has said, it will be great to just have the rig close by. Half the time I'm up in the garage, I'm really not working on it, just walking around it. You can come up with some great game plans for the big day, if you really have a good picture of what you're going after.

Watch it though, you can get in trouble this way too. Especially if you're walking around the rig with a beer or many in your hand for hours thinking of great things that you think at the time will look good or only take a couple of hours. :D

Hard to believe how much of a difference the front clip makes. Need to bleed the brakes still. Had hoped to do that today too, but tore my shin open when I slipped on the door sill (too much accumulated dust) and had to get 12 stitches :doah:.

Hopefully home in the next few weeks.

Build-related injuries also require pics in your thread..... It's kind of a rule. :deal:

How do you cut your leg that badly on a doorsill? Are they made out of rusty, old soup can lids? :haha:
