I got the a 6'' lift kit off my brothers 72 k10. Got it on without any problems, but now the driveshafts dont reach. The truck it came off of had stock driveshafts so I assumed I could use the Blazers driveshafts. For the front will a k10 driveshaft fit, you think? What about the rear/ Any ideas are welcome and appreciated.

would really like to figure this out soon. Just started the motor the other day, and only got a few more things to do before driving it. The major problem is the lack of driveshafts.

If you can get it, the front shaft should work from your brothers truck. You're gonna probably need a new rear shaft. I really doubt he was able to use the stock shafts with a 6" lift

My dad knows a few people out there with these trucks that lifted them 6 inches with stock driveshafts including himself. I am sure there is a truck front shaft in my garage that I can try, what I really need to know is if there is a stock shaft from a different year truck that will work or something along those lines.

It is all trial and error. I had 6" lift and with a TH400 and 205 and a stock shaft out of a K5 with a TH400 and 208 fit it right(this was a CUCV), but my original shaft seperated on me all the time. I only found this out by bolting it up.

Don't give up yet! Take your old one to a driveshaft shop and get it lengthened, or go to a junkyard and find one that is XX" longer than the one you have. Don't let one little hicup stop you. I am on my third body/frame combination while maintaining the drivtrain. I still haven't gotten it all together, but after 10 years I am still going at it!

Well i ws thinking about it last night. I got a truck front driveshaft that should fit. Then with the old front and old rear I could comibe them to have a long enough rear. Since the front has the double universal thing and the rear doesnt.

Take the cardon joint and another front and have them combined to make a longer front. Do the same with the rear. For some reason mine didnt need to be extended on my 72 with 465-205 combo and 6" lift

Are you saying to run two cardon joints in the front then? Because the front already has one. And that is how I planned on lengthening the back.

No No No, What i meant was to just re use the front by attaching it to another longer shaft. Allthough two joints sure would be cool.

I beleive I got it all figured out now. For the rear I am going to take the stock rear that it an inch short and add the cardon joint that will lengthen it 2 inches. The for the front I will buy a longer peice that slides on the other pliece like mentioned at another forum.
