ok, im slowly making progress, got the motor, tranny and x-case out last night, and the front clip removed. The blazer had 2 crossmembers in it, there was one right under the rear driveline that wasnt holding anything, just bolted to the frame, is that factory? or is that a custom deal? also if you guys could post up some pics of the undersides of your blazers so that i can get an idea of what all is suppossed to be there and also how you ran your exaust. Also does anyone have any experience with replacement wiring harnesses? I was looking at the jegs and summit brand ones since they are just painless knockoffs

The second crossmember was for a skid plate that went under the t-case.
I haven't installed a Summit wiring harness before but I have installed Painless harnesses.
The good: Top quality wiring and fuse block, well labeled and cheaper than O.E replacement.
The bad: No connectors for anything so you have to reuse all of sockets and pigtails, kind of a pain. Universal design that may not work all that well without a lot of custom work.

do you have any pics of the skid plate? mine has one but it is mounted to the same xmember that the x-case is mounted to, the 2nd one wasnt doing anything, wasnt sure if it was for rigidity in the frame or just there,

As far as the wiring goes, i was just planning on some solder and heat shrink for the connectors. Was yours pretty self explanitory? and did it have everything you needed?

I used the harnesses on cars and Jeeps. I haven't used one a Blazer and I don't think I ever would unless it was a total custom deal because they are so universal. It takes a lot of hours (60+ on the last one) to make one fit and look right.

Is it necessary that i re-install the rear-most crossmember? is it just for the skid-plate or is it structural also? the only reason i am worried about it is because of the 8" lift that is going onto it.
