I started on the truck about 6 years ago when I was 15, heres how it sits now:

Duplicolor Candy Orange Paint,
Herculiner rockers and floors,
1/8" diamond plate floors all through out,
custom tube doors,
custom tube bumpers,
custom orange grille,
stock 350 with 4bbl holley (POS),
sm465,
NP205,
open 12 bolt (maybe soon to be a 14 bolt sf)
open dana 44,
35" KM2's on stock 80's wheels (soon to change)
on board york compressor,
lift started as a 4" tough country soft ride but when installed, the new rear springs sat 2.5" lower than the fronts, so 2.5" blocks were added. then 2 leaves were taken out of the front pack and longer shackles were added.
rear 63" springs are in progress

The camera doesnt do the color justice....:doah:

the floor isnt raised per say, but the rotted sheet metal got replaced by 1/8" diamond plate steel. for ease of bending the stuff, a lot of the floor was "squared off"

Here's a pic of the orange grille:

Ill deffinately try to take some pics of it. I forgot to mention that I just completed the painless wiring kit... best investment so far!

Heres for you guys that have done the 63" spring swap. Do you have any pics of the front mounts? What length shackles did you go with and how many inches of lift did you end up with?

new brackets

Here are some new brackets that i have finally finished welding up....

Rear Hitch mount, meant to go between the frame rails and work as a crossmember as well as bumper support (removeable plates

spring swap done!

finally got around to putting the 63" springs in and what a difference! this thing rides much better than the tough country springs.

It is too dark now to take pics but i will definitely try to take some tomorrow..... hurricane earl permitting :waytogo:

above you can see how I moved the parking brake brackets to the bottom of the frame and further back a bit. I just got some cable from homer depot and extended the center cable to match.

I had a local driveshaft shop whack the cv joint off of an extra front driveshaft I had laying around. the angles were pretty much dead on. the truck drives awesome and has no vibrations. They gave me a new yoke to accept the double cardan joint.

the only problem was the new yoke has a 1.875 diameter and the old one was 2.something. For anyone with this problem, the seal that works is from a 78 bronco either front or rear seal but it has to have the 203 transfer case.

let me know what you guys think

thanks guys! lets take a poll, stick with the 35s or go back to the 37" boggers??

Sponsoredbydad, The rear cv and 63" spring swap are probably the two best mods I have done so far, aside from the softtopper. I used to get vibrations on the highway, but no more. with the 4" or so of lift, i just think there was too much angle for one u joint. One thing that I did not know was how much of a difference there is between autozone crap universals and dana quality replacements. When I had the driveshaft work done, I gave the guy some autozone replacements to put in the shaft. He laughed at me and prefered to keep the ones that had been sitting in the shaft in my backyard for the past 8 years.

I always loved your rig 70jimmy!
