Does anyone have any good pictures of the 73-75 front floor boards? I’m trying to get a game plan together on my full vert convention and I’m trying to find more info on how those floors were constructed. I’m thinking about bringing the bed floor forward like the years mentioned and adding hidden reinforcement and hopefully stiffen the body some. I’ve been loookg on here and googling like crazy and I’ve found a few pics but nothing that I’m really looking for. I know the front floor of these are “double walled” or boxed but I can’t figure out how or where everything goes, off of the pics I’ve seen. I’m mainly looking for pictures of how that lower floor is attached (I.e. floor to firewall, floor to front of bed/ rear of front cab).

I’ll be adding a cage to it but I don’t want a huge cage in this thing. It won’t see a ton of off road usage other than some extremely mild off roading, maybe going through fields for hunting or dirt trail roads. I guess what I’m looking for is undercarriage and cutaway pics. Or maybe I have no idea what the hell im looking for..

Thanks man! How smoked is the tub? I should have just taken the whole damn truck and not just the top! Haha!

As far as I know, my 73 has not been modified in this area... yet. I have to do a floor/rocker repair at some point.
Body Mount area. The box comes up and is sandwiched into the mount. Other than this area, its fairly flat across the bottom.

Overall box pictures. Appears to be 13" deep from the pinch weld, the whole length of the rocker box, then going back maybe 6 more inches.
The inner verticle piece is pretty heavy, 14 or 16 guage.IMG_20171102_110808.jpg
The flats of the box is standard 20-ish gauge. Hard to say as mine is mostly coated in underliner

You can see there is a small 1" x 1" angle brace up against the floor in the front 12" or so.

This one shows the overall height of the rear of the box, as it goes up to the bed floor.

I dont see anything on the trans tunnel area that is double wall. There are small braces for where the seatbelt bolts come through, but thats it.

Thank you so much! That’s exactly what I was looking for! That doesn’t look like it would be as hard to do as I thought it would be.

That foot high vertical piece is the key to strengthening the floor the rest of the box is to keep it in place and some sideways rigidity.
I had a 73 and we had to cut in the box to fix some rust.
So I don't have pix but can replicate the idea.
