You may see on general parts for sale that I am looking for 73 to 75 window sash for a full convertible. I am doing a conversion on my 88 this summer and would like to have the correct sash. Those of you that know will be aware that these sashes have shark fins as people call them. These are for rigidity when the window is rolled up since it doesn't roll into the top of the door like a full cab vehicle. My window sashes are pretty much toast. I sent them to have them blasted and coated but I'm not a fan of how they turned out, which is no slight to the guy that did the work. My question is, could these shark fins be removed and placed on another window sash? They are only spot welded on in two to three places. I've noticed the 76 sash is a little bit shorter where the roller for the window regulator goes. I wonder how much this matters? I know several people have done full convertible conversions and not used the original windows and sashes so obviously this isn't a maker break deal, however I do like the idea of having the extra strength when the window is rolled up.
