So i was going through some pic off a old phone and found a pic i forgot i had. Its from a place I worked at a few years ago and its the only pic i have. I did some searching and couldn't find anything like it so i though i would throw it up on here and see. Did GM ever offer the 73/87 style mirrors in a extendable style or did this guy just pull until it popped the retainer ring off?

I see them around here like the pretty often, I just assumed they were just slid out as far as they went.

I didnt know if behind the glass it had a retaining ring like the side that mounts to the door. Guess I will try it and see when i get home.:dunno:

My dad's old 89 extended cab 1ton dualie had them, it was just the. Tube and mirror. The body mount was different always wanted to know if they could be mixed together.

So, after some searching it looks like they cant just "pull" out. They have a retaining clip like the side that mounts to the door. May explore trying to make something work but have to figure out how to get the glass off with out breaking it first.

Those mirrors are made by retrac 604750 or the old number of 291 this is the mirror and the arm you re-use your base.

Awesome! I emailed them asking for info and they said these are available through Fleet Pride. Guess when i get home i will check into them, thanks for the info.

Fleet pride, quoted $49.99 each and about 20 bucks shipping. That's not much more then the standard mirrors from LMC.

That is awesome I hate the huge mirrors on my crew cab but really like the d umbo mirrors that are stock

I did the tube doors and once the full doors go back on (finding that harder and harder to do) I'll get these to fit them too. So nice actually being able to see.

One of the options I am looking at down the road for my tow rig is using the "one piece window" and welding in a support where the wing vent was. Tricky part is finding a mirror that matches the window conture.
