73 and 89 interchangeability? help please!

i have a line on a 73, and if it looks good, i'd like to swap everything from my 89 to it, i mean lift, axles, tires, everything. Is it just a swap over or will the ORD flip rear and springs front even work on it? and the tranny/motor/t-case are they just a drop in?

Everything should drop in. Suspension didn't change in any way that would trip you up...

The front clip is a bit of work but has been done by quite a few people here.

New style dash may fit.

Seats probably won't fit without some work. The 73 never had a fold and tumble rear seat...just a rigid bolted down bench. Front seats were also quite different.

If you put your 89' body on the 73' frame you won't have to worry about that stuff. Why do you want to swap in a 73'frame? Smog? Got a badass motor in mind? /forums/images/graemlins/woot.gif

I think I would just graft on the windshield frame (with the vin attached /forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif) and call your truck a 73. Would be ALOT less work. Might want to take the vin off the frame as well /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif
