Ok I am new to this all and I have never dealt with a Blazer this old. Just picked it up for a hunting vehicle and will probally use mainly off-road but not always. Lets just say this will not be a daily driver. After doin some research on line and at the local junkyard I would say that I am really confused now. Some of the plans that I have decided on is a front end swap to the 88-91 style, roll cage the inside, rhino line everthing that I can. It has a 350 but I am at a loss on tranny, transfer case and axles. Would like to swap front axle for Dana 60 no idea for rear. Will also swap engine looking for a 400, 427, 454. Will probaly swap tranny and Tran case if needed. Would like 8in lift with 37's. Picked up the truck cheap so I do have a few option for this vehicle. Would like to get mechanically sound first. You know brains before beauty. I anybody has any suggestions I would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Stock it should have a Dana 44 front and 12 bolt semi-float rear. There is only a marginal difference in going to the later model 10 bolt front. Dana 60 front would be strong, but they are pricey to get in good condition. With 37's you are going to want a 14 bolt full float rear, and both the D60 and 14bff are available in one ton trucks.

Crawl underneath and check the shape of the tranny pan, it is most likely a turbo 350, but only the shape will tell. As for the transfer case, there should be a tag to tell you what transfer it is, it may be a np205, unless it is full time then it would be a np203.

Best suggestion I can make is to spring for the $25 membership, and it will open up a lot of possibilities. Just be warned that the $25 is cheap compared to how much it will cost you once you start finding out everything that is available for these trucks. Welcome to the board.
