i have a 73 k10 pickup longbed it has a dana44 front axle and i have a 6lug 14bolt for the rear. it has a 350,sm465 4speed, and a np205 tcase. i was thinking of twin sticking the 205 and runing 33s with 3.73. what do u guys think any ideas

The possibilties are only limited by your wallet :D, but seriously, what do you want to do with the truck? It's hard to make a suggestion with out knowing what the end goal is.

a good trail truck that bullet proof but somthing i can still drive on the road and wont be overly bad on gas i also have a 5 speed out of a 94 chevy i think its a nv4500 i dont if its worth it

It depends on what that trans is out of. If its from a gasser 1500 or 2500 then its probably a nv3500 which still isnt a bad trans for a mild 350.

This sounds like the build could have some good direction. I wish my truck were smaller...

If I was in your shoes I would:

1) Leave the axles but at least lock the rear. Lock the front at your discretion but pick up some spare shafts. I have 3 sets...

2) What gears are you running now? I have 3.73s with 36's 350/sm465 and I get up and go no problem. If you go with an OD trans then hell go for it though.

3) Start looking into some good suspension mods. You have to remember that those grabby tires are useless if you cant keep em on the ground.

Start researching a 56in rear spring swap with a shackle flip for the rear. While I normally recommend DIY4X a 4in lift would be way to high for 33's. ORD offers a 2-1/2in lift version.

For the front I would look into either a 56 or 52in spring swap. This will require hi-steer and long travel shocks/driveshaft though. You would need to ask around to try and find out how to only net 2in of lift with that swap though.

It all depends on how wild you wanna go. If I had a fresh truck to start with I would go the root your on.

hi-steer
hi clearance engine crossmember
33x10.5 MT's
56in rear springs with 2.5in shackle flip
56in front springs with a good shackle angle
blazer gas tank
clocked transfer case
nice bumper and winch
locked front and rear
rock sliders to keep the trees out of your doors.

Just curious, but why recommend that?

Well or suburban or relocate the saddle into the middle of the frame. Saddle tanks are just very open to damage and puncture. Plus if you only have one or fill one it makes the truck lean and sag to one side more.

The burb tank is 40 gallons and blazer is 25 i believe.

They bolt up right between the frame rails but i have no personal experience. Its on my to do list :)
