73' K5 underhood sticker says to use premium fuel?

It's still legal for use in off-road vehicles and equipment. So it's possible to find it.
Lots of farming areas have a diesel pump labeled 'off-road use only' with the price much lower because there's no (or much less) taxes on it.

So which station in South Range has it, I'm curious. I'm through there quite a bit (will be there this weekend) , I didn't seem to notice it. There's only one station there.

the station in south range does not have it, that place hardley ever has gas anyways, i belive that we get it in houghton

Well I know 100% I was buying leaded at service stations in 1981 after that you on your own. In 1979 we were getting it delivered to our tanks for my fathers company.

Now Racing Fuel is a different story and $8.00 a gallon last I saw it a month ago.

Ok the way the octane is calculated is different now than it was in 73'. That was the answer I was looking for.

Maybe it was regional. We had lots of leaded gas up until the mid '90s in Oregon, and there are lots of places to get leaded race fuel and av gas here too.
