74-5 grille on a 73

Grille on my 73 is trashed. Looking for another but no aftermarket, good used ones are expensive so not holding my breath. I picked up an aftermarket 75 grille new for like 30 bucks. Planning to use it until I can find a good 73-74.

Has anyone done this? The screw holes are totally different. I can fab up a steel or aluminum frame/adapter but what I am envisioning is a little involved. Hoping someone has come up with something better.

The brackets unbolt from the rad support.
You could find some of the later style and bolt them on.

You sure the grill you bought is a 75? I thought from 73-76 are all the thicker/ deep grills , 77 and up are the thinner grill.

I am pretty sure that the 73-75 interchange at least the ones I had.
