74 blazer

Hey everyone,

I just went and looked at a 1974 blazer for sale thinking i could convert mine over to full convertible pretty reasonable. After driving an hour and a half i pulled up to said vehicle and it was not a full convertible. I was under the impression that all blazers from 73-75 were full convertible? I looked at his title and it was definetly titled as a 74 with the correct VIN. Anybody know if this is possible or is there likely some funny business going on with this?

73-75's were all full tops, some with no tops at all.

Sounds like funny business to me. 1974 Blazers were most definitely full-top convertibles.

he may have bought a k5 with no title and he may have the said title where was the vin plate located

the vin plate was located on the dash, i didnt even pay attention to the dash panel and other differences due to the fact it was not full convertible. I just wanted to make sure i was correct in assuming that all blazers made between 73-75 were full convertible.

If the VIN plate is on the dash then it really is not a '74. GM didn't put vin plates on the dash until '79 or '80. The vin plate should be on the door jamb...I'd recheck the numbers...

I don't think you could even put an old-style jamb vin plate on the dash, it's a completely different design...

Yeppers. I had a '74 that I tore apart. It was full convertible. I still have the top. Unless my eyes were playing tricks on me.

Here's what the vin plate looks like on my '73. A '74 plate should look just like this.

the vin plate was in the same place as my 85. He probably found one without a title and used his old title. I didnt pay much attention to anything once i saw that it was not full convertible. Thanks for the confirmation guys.
