I am in the final stage of my '74 Jimmy rebuild but I am having a hell of a time getting the doors taken care of. Is there any place that sells the doors made for a the '73-'76 style will the fully removable top or am I going to have to find something newer and get out the torch. I am wanting to get this knocked out ASAP and got nowhere before going to the experts (you guys).

Yup; even the factory ones are pickup/Burb/whatever doors with the tops lopped off and plates welded in as reinforcement.

Get you some doors you like, new or used or whatever, and cut 'em.

That's what I thought, I just wasn't sure if there was an aftermarket shop that would have them avab. Looks like it's time to do some choppin.

Don't use a torch:eek1: Sawzall or a portaband works really well. Don't forget to weld in the little reinforcement.

Will the windows on the cut doors roll up all the way? Just curious. I also was wondering the same thing about door availability/ or modification. Thanks.

Cool. Now I can replace my passenger side door with one that works (off of a 1976 pickup) to keep the wife happy because she doesn't have to crawl over from the drivers side to her seat.

I'm not sure which years it applys to but take a look at your windows before you go swipe a door. There is what's known as thick glass and thin glass windows. Make sure youget which ever is in your truck..... it makes buying window channel kits much easier...... ask me how I know:doah:
