Had to get new doors and I decided to go with used newer model doors rather than brand new 73-75 doors. The doors have been cut to be convertible and to keep the original look and interior panels, I've welded up most of the additional holes on the inside panel that the newer doors have. Sigh. The things I do to save a few bucks.
Aside from the holes, the biggest difference on the newer doors is glass thickness with the 74 glass being almost twice as thick. I can close the doors now and they seal just fine so I would imagine that I wouldn't have an issue long term as long as the doors are adjusted properly. Just want to make sure though.
The old and new doors both had manual regulators but I would prefer to use the newer regulators and glass pieces since they are in better shape and the glass is not as scratched. The two pieces can't be swapped/miss matched as the rollers are larger on the newer glass. Would also be using the felt channels from the newer doors. Mostly concerned about window glass strength since there is no door frame.
Thoughts?
Thanks.
