Old lift looked homemade , it was horrible !!
lol.gif
The U bolts went in from the top , with square top U bolts , and a curved plate on the bottom ( so bolts hang down ) . My NEW 4 in kit from Rough Country came with regular U shaped U bolts , RC says the U bolts must go in from the bottom ( point UP ) . SO now I had to buy the top plates , so the new U bolts can come up from the bottom . Now the U shape will cradle the axle housing . Is this normal for different kits to mount different ways ? Any pics

Its the rear sorry .
The guy before me had it messed up !!! Plate on bottom , homemade block , and U bolts coming from the top down to plate . He also he a piece of flat iron welded to HOLD the U bolts together on top !!! WOW !! JUNK !! I have all new top plates , U bolts , nuts , washers, everything needed !! To go back stock Thanks for help :waytogo:

My 72 K5 used square u-bolts and had cast iron bottom plates with a cupped shape, that clamped around the axle tubes...one of the "ears" broke away on the cast iron bottom plates,I was lucky to find a used one in good shape in a junkyard--otherwise I'd have had to buy all 4 "rounded" u-bolts and some spring plates off a 73-87 style truck to fix it..the original squared off U-bolts were 9/16" too, where as most of the round style ones are 5/8"..
