I just picked up a 88 K3500 CC SRW for my new project. It is short all the side windows and windshield though, punk ass kids. Will the windshield out of my 75 K20 fit? Also I have a set of front windows out of a 79 C10, will they fit? The only differences I've seen between the two "generations" of doors is how the interior door panels mount...

Thanks in advance.

I'll get some pics of both the trucks up this weekend, I've got my work cut out for me!

the side windows will work, for some reason i think the cab is about an 1in wider on your 88 so the windshield wont work, but i am probably wrong, some one will tune in

The windshield is the same from 73-87 (88-91 burb, blazer and old body 1 tons)

I'm not sure about the side door windows but i do know the wing windows were different between a couple years and not sure if that made the side glass different as well.

Right on thanks guys. I'll have to find someone who can swap the windshield for me. Here's the '75...

its not all that hard to do yourself, you just pull out a inner piece of the seal, it will have a little metal clip thing down in the front and center on the outside. Once thats out the windshield will pop out with a little persuasion. Then take the rest of the seal and put it in the truck you want the windshield in, run a little sealant in there and then pop the window, seal and clip back it. Hardest part is not breaking the window, they are kinda heavy and akward.

the wing windows do have different designs from earlier to later years, but it's only the actual glass and rubber seal that's different, the actual framework is the same, they do mount up exactly the same bwetween the years.

just did a swap on my dually from one i think is from a much earlier year, the glass is actually taller, than the one that was original to my '86.

installing the windshield doesn't really require sealant where the glass sits, maybe against the cab,,,but while installing the wndshield, use two people, it helps, drop it in the bottom of the rubber, use soapy water all the way around to create a sort of lubricant, and preferrably some sort of plastic, i use a flat blade screw driver, but you take a high chance of cracking the glass this way...

you'll see what you have to do with the rubber gasket, basically pulling the outer rubber out and around the glass all the way around until the glass drops right in.

then feed the zipper into it's home all the way around, that's a real fun part. again, using soapy water, it helps.

replaced several of them already, hell i have gotten to be so comfortable with this, i have removed windshields, just to tint up a visor strip on the top for an extremely clean, light leak free look.

SO we are 100% the doors are the same for a 77 as an 88 hardware from an 88 works fine? Reason I ask is part numbers are different.

i will go snap a few pics of the different windows i have, the only difference i saw is the window glass goes up farther on the older ones, and the newer ones are shorter with more rubber at the top, where the window comes to a point.

but yes, i mounted this older window in the '86,,,which had the same window as my '88 Burb.

Right on about the windshield. When I get around to it I'll take the winsheild of of the 88 and see if I can do it without breaking it even more then swap the windsheild from the 75. It'll be a while till I get around to it, after thanksgiving, but I'll get some pics.
