In your nightmares...
I can buy a D44 and 12bolt for a GOOD price... Are they a direct fit under the 89 Burb... Everything in question is 1/2 ton.

Spring pads in the right spot?
Steering will hook up? (There is a D44 under the truck already but different ratio)

Any other issues I am missing?

Thx

Need an answer quick if ya can. THX!!!

you ought to be just fine, maybe the 12b ujoint is a bit different

The 12 bolt yoke may be different (most manual transmission 12 bolt used 1350 joints) but worst case is you have to buy a conversion u-joint (~$30).

IIRC the dana 44 uses an SAE brake line fitting and the 10 bolt fittings are metric, so you will likely need new brake lines and banjo bolts. Otherwise it should bolt up.

You already have a old axle up front if there really is a 44 in the front. ALL 89 burbs came with 10 bolt fronts. The steering should be the same for both axles.

I should mention that 10 bolt and Chevy dana 44 calipers are interchangeable (the only difference is the brake line fitting size) so you could take the calipers off of your old axle (assuming its a 10 bolt) and put them on the dana 44.
