I bought a parts '75 Blazer. I'm going to cut the windshield frame off and put it away for a future time when I have a real job and money.

The truck is on a friends property and will have to go this summer. I need to get as much money back out of it as possible, so I'm going to see how much I can get at the scrapyard.

My question is, is there any interest in a frame for one of these trucks. If so, how much is it worth? I'd like to help someone out if it's needed rather than scrap it, but I'd at least like to get some back out of it.

I know of a 72 frame all cleaned up and painted. Guy wants $300 for it and it comes with a title. He has been trying to sell it for about 6 months now.

theres a frame down the road from me been sitting there for a year, guy is asking 200, like anything its only worth something if someone needs it.

Thats true, I was at a swap meet about 2years ago and there was a guy selling a 79 2wd k-5 rolling chassis (no body engine or trans) for $300. Im pretty sure he didnt sell it that weekend

that frame would work good for some1 building a trazer b/c it should have the cross member on the 2nd set of k5 tub mounts w/body mounts between the frame rails and a truck cab will bolt right on w/o having to move any body mounts!

That is true! Whoever bought this frame wouldn't have to find a blazer tub which are usually much harder to find than a truck cab.

Dang, my wife is going to kill me if I mention that I can build a trazer out of the leftover part from my tub.:haha:

i guess i'm lucky in that department, my wife puts up w/all my building & saving junk trucks b/c i may need something off it 1 day(i'm glad i have 20 wooded acres so i can put them outta sight, to 1/2 azz keep it nice around the house). plus she likes to drive the big 4x4's i build and the slick customized 2wd's, i was into this stuff when we met & i told her its not a hobby I'm willing to quit,..ever, so she had a heads up! she even budgets in my monthly $400 truck fund allowance and transfers it over into my truck account that is in my name only, knowing she can't get it back! Man, i love my wifey!

For the most part my wife loves the Blazer and wheeling. She also loves camping and is looking forward to the newer trailer we are getting this year. However, she gets upset at times when she realizes just how much $$$ it takes to get to the point where I will finally consider the Blazer finished. As for room, we don't have any. When I bring the tub home next month it is going to sit there long enough for me to get all the body parts I need, then it is going away. I just don't have the room right now to store it, but that will hopefully be changing soon.

Nope, that is the last thing I really need to get the body done. Most likely just buy it all from LMC when the time comes. The body I am grabbing is a base model, so it doesn't have any trim. It does however have lots of rust free body parts to be installed on mine.

good deal, i was lucky my 80 had every piece of trim still on it, the rear silverado badges and the front k5 1's and in good condition..all interor trim except the end caps off the strap on passenger side door, those 2 pieces only thing missing & i can't find them, my truck has the metal insert w/scroll around it and the pieces i'm talking about have the scroll design on them, only truck i've ever seen w/those door panels, makes it impossible to find those end pieces...i've given up! maybe i'll happen across them someday...do you know are those 80 only door panels?

Those are available from LMC. Mine also has that design for the door panels, and I am missing two of the caps. I just haven't gotten around to ordering them in yet. I believe they were only 79-80 panels, at least based on what I have seen.

Very few Blazers around here have any trim on them. It has either been stripped, or they are base models that didn't have it. Mine will definitely stand out once it has all been restored. Of course mine will stick out as one of the few with no rust as well.

i thought they were just 1 or 2 yrs they used those door panels,,,I'll have to look into LCM for those caps...nobody else really notices they are gone, but me every time i look right its like a big eye sore! lol

thanks for the link,,,$10 ea...that's really reasonable..i thought they would be alot more expensive than that! i've got to get a LCM catalog for the k5's...i have 1 that covers my 96 Tahoe

ive gotten rid of 3 rolling frames in the last 3-4 months..

1st one I gave away on craigslust.. took weeks for someone to get it/want it

the other two I posted for 200.00 and they sold in two days, both people who came to look at them brought a trailer and we loaded em up!

Cool, thanks. I just didn't want to ask to much, or rip any body off either.

As for me, I prefer trucks that have all the trim back on: wheel over mouldings, side trim. Unless it's a full-on trail rig. It seems that I'm a minority in this opinion, however

Mine will be that way, it is just taking some time.
