'75 C10 8.1 swap.

Hi! Long time no see. About four years ago I got this 75 c10. Pretty typical truck. Kind of a turd, but not too shabby. Got it for $650, running and driving but needing a little work. Had a 350/th350 when i got it. Shortly after i got the truck, i bought a wrecked '01 tahoe with a 5.3. I parted out the tahoe and swapped the 5.3 into the c10. It was pretty cool. Recently i finished swapping the 5.3 for an 8.1. Now its very cool. Most of the truck is the same as when i first got it but i have done a fair bit of little stuff here and there between engine swaps.

I made a website that is somewhat of a square body 8.1 swap guide. I suspect that i would get in trouble for posting a link to the site here, but i'm not selling anything on it. Its really just a write up article, but in website form. So if anyone knows if i'm allowed to post that here, let me know. Martin asked me to make a build thread on here, so i'm going to try to oblige him on that. Along with Martin, I gotta shout out to Larry. A majority of my knowledge pertaining to 8.1s came from Larry and his 8.1 swap resource thread. I'll do my best to make this thread into a build thread but it will likely mostly be a parallel to the info in the write up i have on the my square body 8.1 swap website.

I was going to do it! Just for you! But to have to pay to make a valuable resource thread on a site I virtually never use any more just rubs me the wrong way.

I know I'm being a little biotch, but when the forum changed, it really took the spark away for me. To add to that, it happened around the time that facebook groups became popular. So now I can see all the groups I like on facebook. Including all kinds of square body groups. With ck5 no longer providing a spark, and facebook providing all kinds of groups, as well as friends and family content, I just dont see myself ever becoming a truly "active" member here again. Not to mention you have to pay just to post pictures... And if you don't pay, the ads on here are just about obnoxious.

Sorry CK5. Thanks for the good times. This was my home back in the day. I cant tell you how many times i would just sit at the computer and hit refresh on the subscribed threads page. It was awesome.

We lost a lot of good new content a few years ago. A bunch of great guys left from here. Still my place to go but you are not wrong it has lost spark from the old days.
