so im about to order my hydro assist from surplus center but im not sure what ram to get. i no the 1" will be stronger but slower. and ive heard about problems with a 1.5" bore and .75 ram. but i cant find anything on what those problems actually are. just for some info. my truck is on the street a lot and i have 38s with full spool and high steer. any input or experiences?

ya,ive been stairing at that one for a bit,i think ill go with that one. i was hoping for a 7/8" one but the next size is 3/4" and thats a little small i think.

This is the one I got from DIY4x. He cut turned and welded the end to work with our rigs.

Here is the link to the one you want ( I think).

That's the one I have. I wouldn't run a .75" ram. I don't notice the difference between extend/contract even at idle and I DD mine sometimes in the winter cuz the girlfriend only has 2wd.

In fact, the only time I ever notice the ram slowing down the steering is when I'm coming down the hill in my neighborhood. There's a really narrow roundabout and I always go through it faster than I really should since I'm only going to ride a curb anyway. I'll just be coasting with the engine at idle and right at the end, I'll notice I have to push a little harder...never enough to make me feel like I can't turn, just enough to tell me that I'm driving through there faster than most people do in their little cars.

so i just ordered the 1" my friends have them and are pretty much satisfied with them. just a tad slow they say but i dont plan on racing autocross so i should be good, thanks for the input guys
