Selling two brand new fiberglass half cab inserts that use the existing bolt holes to mount. Does NOT come with the bottom metal bulk head or window. The bulkhead could be made easily enough but I was just going to buy a tonneau cover for a short box and put some snaps on the inside of the bottom half of the insert and call it a day. The window required for this is out of a 79 and up Dodge truck (IIRC, can confirm that to interested parties).

I still have the K5 to put this in but have never used it since I have three kids. So, selling these to put money towards a full soft top. Again, these are brand new with a smooth white gel coat finish. They were put out by Creative Visions back in the day when there was more of a demand for them. I think there are instructions that describe how to build the bulk head, if you want to go that route. Asking $300 /each. Add $100 if you want it packed and shipped.

LOL, I can relate. I remember you posting a few times in the half cab insert thread and the info from that is how I found these. The guy said he still had the molds to make these again and was willing to sell them too.

Wasnt dk5 lookin at getting molds made for these? You should def get more info on the molds! That would be cool to have somebody on here able to make em. I think they would be a hit.

I purchased one of these half cab inserts from CUCV2 and I couldn’t be happier. The insert was in perfect shape and it fits on the ol' K5 like a glove. I have yet to install it permanently such that I still need to decide if I want to fabricate the steel bulkhead or modify a short bed tonneau cover. I run the softtopper in the warmer months and I’m going to use the half cab during the cold winter months. I’m trying anything to avoid putting back on the 300lb herniating disk inducing cap.

Still have the guys contact info if someone is interested. He sounded like an older gentleman that would be happy to see someone continue on with what he started.

Thanks for the purchase. Agreed that the weight savings alone is a nice reason to have one. I'd like to see some pics of some rigs with the half tops.

If you still have one for sale, I am interested in buying it from you. I just need to have it packaged up for shipping so my shipper can arrange to pick it up from you. Also, let me know if you take PayPal for payment :waytogo:

There is one insert packaged and ready to ship now. I prefer a USPS money order. I have a Paypal account but only use it if others prefer payment that way. It has never been used for receiving payment. It could be, I guess, if need be though.

I'm torn. I have two things I want that I'm unlikely to ever find again. The other is less rare, but hard to come by, especially locally, and it's just 30mins down the road.

I know how you feel. It took awhile to find these. I kept thinking/hoping I could use one, at least on the old CUCV K5 (plow rig). But with three kids and the sale of the CUCV, it is time to pass these on to someone who could use them. It took a couple of years to get to here though. Maybe these will get passed around in the CK5 circle and at some point, you may get another shot at them.

I am curious what the other thing is that you are deciding on .

A 32" Ludwig concert bass drum. Black like the rest of my drums, with the exact same hardware. It's totally virgin, was never drilled for a mounting system. Spent its whole life on a folding stand.
