Hi guys, I started the build on my 76 blazer back in 09. Anyone here that spends time on 67-72 may of seen a few of these pics, but I hoping to get a little more K5 specific info here.
A little background on the truck: 76 K5, special ordered in Glenwood green with green interior, factory installed woodgrain exterior, 350 4 barrel, 4 speed manual, 4x4, factory tach, trailering special, dual exhaust, 3.08 gears with rear G80.
I purchased the truck from the original owner with 85K on it. It had not left his driveway since 1985, but was used to plow on a regular basis. Very rusty.

And this is how it looks as of now, I have 4 inch lift in it, shackle flip in the back. I put a dana 60 in the front and I have a 14 bolt with discs ready to install in the back.

Great work man!!!

I love it when guys repair the rust instead of scrapping!

WOW. Great looking build so far. Looks fairly clean to start with, the typical areas were bad, but around here a truck like that would be far worse.

What are the plans for the rest of the build?

Thanks, I hope to take it over near you to silver lake in the next year or two.

Well, for the rest of the build, I am going to repaint it the original green, the interior is changing to black. I have a freshened up 402 that is going in it and a set of 33s.

Sweet :waytogo:

Very nice work so far  like Deuling said, it's always nice to see one saved, can't wait to see more :D

Near Milwaukee, I been to silver lake 4 or 5 times on quads, but really want to take the trucks.

Loads more fun in a truck. I enjoy ridin my quad there, but its just too small of a place for that. Get bored after a half hour of riding.

I'm there most every weekend over summer. Hit me up :thumb:

Good to see this one coming back to life. Your work is looking very nice so far. :waytogo:

Waukesha huh? I was just up there a few months back visiting some friends. Pretty cool little area.

I've worked on a Waukesha engine.

That being said, keep the green interior!

Are you going to put the wood grain back on it?

Martin

Nice work man! :waytogo:

I like green interior too. :dunno: But glad your going with green for the outside should look great...my favorite! Besides Black. :thumb:

LOL, I actually have a friend that has a ton of old NOS parts that actually has some of the original rolls of the wood grain. He told me that I could have them, but since I removed the holes for the trim, I think it would be too much work to put back on.
As far as the green interior, I have a set of 86' reclining buckets that are going in and I dont think that I can get green seat covers for them.

Very nice work. X2 on fixing the rust. It will be like new. Did you do the under carriage yourself?

your dash is exactly the same as mine... I wondered if mine was stock...

looks awesome. can't wait to see it play out

Yeah I did the undercarriage, It does not look new, I basically just used a stiff wire wheel on an angle grinder to clean things up and painted it with eastwoods rust encapsulator.
