The vehicle that these parts are going into is a 1976 K10 SWB, specs below.

Mild 350 SBC
Stock TH700R4
NP208C
Dana 44 with 3.08’s, open
GM Corporate 12 Bolt with 3.08’s, open
4” Lift: All ORD and Tuff Country Components
15” Steel Rims with 33x12.5x15 BFG All Terrains

I've already got a build thread (if that’s what you want to call it) up for the stuff I've done for this truck.

I don’t trust doing anything with it other than daily driving. I’m afraid that I’ll blow the gears in my diffs or my 208 will fail me.

So I’ve been devising a plan to put my worries to rest. Listed below are the parts that I’ll be collecting and building up. This is going to a very slow build. I’m looking for everyone’s recommendations and advice on specific parts and manufacturers to use, best modifications, anything that will improve upon what I plan to do.

The truck will be a hybrid crawling and mudding truck, just switch the tires out and go. I believe there’s gonna be a lot more mudding where I’m going.

Front Axle:
Dana 60 Kingpin
Blasted, Zinc Primered and painted
Artec Weld-on Truss
4.88 or 5.13 Gear Ratio with Limited Slip/ Posi-Trac Carrier
Chromoly Axles
GLO Diff Cover
Front End Rebuild w/ MOOG Parts
Slotted Rotors / ??Wilwood Calipers?? / EBC Pads
1410 Yoke
ORD Steering Stabilizer Bracket

Rear Axle:
Corporate SRW 14 Bolt Free Floater:
Blasted, Zinc Primered and painted
Artec Weld-on Truss
4.88 or 5.13 Gear Ratio with Limited Slip / Posi-Trac Carrier
Chromoly Axles
GLO Diff Cover
DIY4X Disc Brake Conversion Brackets
Slotted Rotors / ??Wilwood Calipers?? / EBC Pads
1410 Yoke
DIY4X 14BFF Guardsman

Transfer Case:
GM Large Bearing Fixed Yoke NP205
32 Spline Shaft
TH400 to NP205 Adapter Housing
ORD Twin Stick
ORD Poly Transfer Case Mounts
1410 Yokes
Clocking Ring
Torque Mount

Other stuff:
Tom Wood’s Drive Shafts – 1 Ton, 1410 Yokes (Any recommendations on another Drive Shaft manufacturer or a specific kind of drive shaft)
TH400 rebuilt and transgo shift kit installed
DIY4X B52’s or A-Bomb Bumper
DIY4X 1” Aluminum Body Lift pucks
DIY4X Dash, Autometer Gauges for everything
12volt Guy Panel, not exactly sure what I want in it yet.
Painless Wiring harness for the whole vehicle
Trail Worthy Fab Re-centered H1 rims
37” Tires, not sure which kind or what width yet.

I’m leaving a lot of stuff out, this is a rough draft of the things that I’m going to start collecting and working on.

Like I said before this is going to be a work in progress and I don’t plan on putting any of this stuff in the truck until I've got it all and built it all up, which will probably be a nice long time.

Please give me all opinions, advice and suggestions.

Here's a photo of how the truck sits now:

sounds like an ambitious project.

keep posting your progress and inquiries!

Very ambitious. I just want my truck to be everything that it should be and I plan on getting it there over time

I wheeled my k5 on 35's and 10 bolts a few times... I don't think you'd have many issues if you took it off road now. It teaches you a lot of throttle control and how to use momentum rather than all skinny pedal..... I like the plans though!

Well for now it's my daily driver and the only spare part I have is a 208. I don't want to risk blowing a diff at this time. I have an '06 Trailblazer (Wife's Idea), but I try to drive my truck everyday, it looks like a tank compared to all these new cars.

I plan on picking up a K5 around next tax time, I'll be on the search for a rust free, straight bodied K5 to use as my daily driver so work can be done on my K10 without having a weekend as a deadline to have whatever I'm working on to be completed.
