I figured I would put up a couple of pictures of my rig, maybe starting from current, and working backwards if anyone's interested.

The latest is a new bumper I made for the back -

Bumper looks good Jer, when did you make that?

And you need to get the front grill/bezels you made back on so it looks complete, it looks a lot better with that stuff on.

Thanks dude - made it last week... my father in law is hoarding my K5 parts, he thinks it will make me give him my truck to babysit or something. Not sure I trust him in it now that you Heathisized the carb tune... it's a monster now.:bow:

I do need to get the grille and bezels back on, it looks a little less hacked with them on.

Thanks man, it's been up twice in it's life :haha: but I hope that it gets more dune time as my kids get bigger. First time out in 2006 was pretty stock with 4" lift and 35s. Last year I got it together and took it out with the new suspension, cage, and big block. Went from a bucking br*nco ride to a whoop monster. There's not much it can't tackle now, even with leaves in the back. Yes, it sat in my garage for 4 years, it was a very slow build... but all worth it now.

I was there until 4 AM one time thrashing on engines, eating pizza, and consuming some barley pop, and tina never said a word the entire time, she just stood there and watched us work without one complaint. She didn't even bat an eye!

Jer, that picture of the jump looks so good it always makes me want to scroll to the right...

Much appreciated too, it wouldn't be running if it weren't for you, and definitely not nearly as well. Yes Tina is the idea girl, quiet, supportive, doesn't mind getting dirty, won't yell at you because you had too many beers, and doesn't care how far you move her. She's no sugar momma, but I don't mind...

Well it was worth it. And I wouldn't have any shock towers or engine crossbar if it wasn't for your help and your tubing bender. I think it worked out well for both of us, and Tina didn't mind either.

What next with that beast?
 
We did a trip to Silver Lake this weekend, and I couldn't have been happier with how things turned out. First, this is the first time my engine has been running the way it should, folkenheath is the tuning guru and diagnosed a stuck closed power valve plus we jetted up a few sizes and fixed a burnt plug wire... huge improvement. Second, I ran paddles for the first time and man is that sweet. I raced a couple quads and they seemed upset that they weren't the top dogs at the sand drags any more. We had a blast, so I figured I would share a few videos...

Nice vids Jer! Your wife did a pretty good job with the video considering it was inside the cab, those usually don't turn out so well at that place.

And don't give me too much credit, I just helped with the engine a few evenings. You are the one who built the entire rig, from suspension to cage to interior and bumpers, it's working really good!

:doah:haha thanks ashman, we had a blast, and the stuck only lasted a minute before we got a quick tug off the dune peak.

Thanks bud, I want to rig up some sort of mount for her camera so she can hold on instead of holding a camera... but it is funny to hear her scream :whistle:

I do appreciate all your help with the engine though man, its running great! I notice the rear shocks fading after one lap around the dunes, so that's going to be the next area of focus. And maybe... some air bumps back there :D.

I also want to do a cleaner job of holding the hood down, my rat rod hood clips are effective but noisy, time to step up to the Autofab ones. The new trans cooler works a lot better, but I still had to pop the truck in neutral once in a while to bring it back under 210 a few times. I moved it more in line with the radiator fan, so it's getting some better air flow too, and that doesn't hurt.
