PO converted my 76 to electric pump, and tapped it into one of the spots on the fuse block. switched power going to the radio was the same way, but tapped into another spot on the fuse block. lately, both the radio and the fuel pump have been cutting out on me, actually loosing power, not a bad ground. At idle I have 13.3 volts at the fuses, but at the blade receptacle where the pump wire and radio wire are attached I only have 11.1 or so volts at idle, when it decides to power them. Any thoughts on where to start and where and what wires I should be tapped to for power to these? Thanks guys

There are some unswitched taps on the fuse block, but if you're having trouble, maybe you should just add a fuse block (with an inline circuit breaker between fuse block and battery) off the battery and run it there. You can get fuse blocks at the junkyard; do a search, someone a while back found a nice block off of some late model something-something. Run 12 gauge wire and it'll be plenty.

OK, Ive found a nice lead that is switched hot on run for the fuel pump, but I have NO wires that are switched accessory hot, should I have any?

both need to be switched power from the ignition since its for the pump and the radio.

Right. Duh:doah:

On my 76 there are 2 tan 20g wires on the engine side of the block. On the dash side there are 20g brown/w and a 12g brown to the back of the block.

The radio fuse is only rated at 10 amps BTW.

I could be reading my schematics wrong, but it appears that I have an ACC tang above the radio fuse that is switched on run, with a 12g brown wire running to the ign switch. Sorry, I don't have the time at the moment to check it on the truck.
