The spring pad width is bolt-in,but what about the brake lines and rear driveshaft u-joint?

What other issues am I going to run into swapping the D44HD/10.5" 14BFF in place of the 10-bolts in my '91 Suburban?

I will be using 4" lift front springs + zero rate up front and a shackle flip + zero rate out back, so I will be rebuilding the stock NP241 T-case with a JB Conversions SYE at the same time.

FYI : The brakelines are intact on the '76 14BFF, are they going to be a direct-fit?

Don't know right now, but Mon I'll be putting '74 axles under an '88 'burb. I should have these answers by, say, Tues.:D

Well, stuffed the '74 14bff under tha back of an '87 'burb today. You already knoe you need u-bolts and spring plates, but we found that the park brake cables won't hook up the the '87(already expected). It looks like the extended brake lines he had will work, just have to swap the junction block on the axle housing, of course every brake line was rusted on and not cooperating and we now need to change the steel lines. Also, u-joint is a different size, which isn't a big deal for Carl(owner of '87) since he put a big dent in the d-shaft on the same trip that broke the axle shaft.:D The front shouldn't be any big deal as long as we use the brake calipers off of his stock axle (he's using an 8lug 10b front of unknown year). Hope some of this helps.

Big help

I'm going to rebuild my NP241 case with an SYE before I complete the lift,so I'm having a new driveshaft built with stout u-joints at both ends....so the u-joint issue......won't be an issue.

The brakelines are the only thing I'm not certain about.

I thnk the steel brake lines on the axle will thread into the junction block from your old axle, but I have to get Carl's to actually come apart to find out for sure. They're the same wrench size and look like the same flare nuts. I can't even remember what stock hose block looked like on his, it has extended braided lines on it now. Not sure what you have on yours either.

The hard lines on my '83 14ff threaded right into the extended braided hose on my '88. The block on the extended hose was like the original. Also, the extended hose was long enough to mount to the original bracket on the 14ff (it was from a C30 though).
