76k5 Bazer/Jimmy buildup (its only a model!)

Hey everyone. just wanted a place to post and hopefully get some hints and ideas about what to or not to do with my new build. I had the choice of either building my previous rust bucket or starting with a body that wasent so badly rusted out.

Luck has it i found a 76k5 Jimmy 305/sm465/205/3.91 gear 1/2 ton with 35x12.5 bfg km2. Its got 2 inch body lift and 4 inch suspension from the previous owner. i spotted the rig on craigslist and negotiated 1300$ it had a few issues but ive been working through them one by one

I painted the roof on the little blazer model and have the exact look im going for. Maybe about 4 inches less lift though.

here is my current build status

-Replaced water pump with correct reverse rotation unit (serpintine setup)
-Replaced rear axle where the previous one had a tube soon to pull from the housing due to a massive crack, you could literatly pull the axle back and forth and hear a clunk by hand
-tuned carb set the timeing and need to rebuild the distributor soon.
-installed bumper from old blazer and working on getting the hood aligned again.
- ditched the apc ricelights for a set of good stockers.



Tomorrow if the lights good ill take a few more to show my progress so far.

Oh i forgot to add. 1 Ton running gear is sitting in the yard now waiting for me to swap it in (need me a welder) m1008cucv with no trans or transfercase.

Ye ole rust bucket. Its way worse than it looks. the bondo is all that holds the body together.

Bumper on and hood refitted the best i can right now.
