77' 3/4 Ton

I was looking in the classified section of the paper yesterday afternoon and came across something that sparked my interest. There was a 77 3/4 Chevy with 14bff (not sure about the front) for only $500. My guess is the truck itself is in pretty bad shape, but I was curious if this axle would be any good to me. I've got and 84 K5 and I was wondering if the front and rear axle from a 77' swap in. I appreciate the help.

Should bolt right under. If it's a '77 it could be either a Dana 44 or 10-bolt front. Only thing is your e-brake cables will be different.

I have had a 1979 and 1978.... 3/4 ton... both with d44 fronts and 14bolt rears.....also these old trucks dont have to be in bad shape... on the books they aint worth much... I bought my current drivetrain.. the body was all rusted out... but 1978 Chevy 3/4 ton 350/smc465/np205/d44/14ff - 4.56's factory for $500....1979 GMC 1 ton 350/turbo400/np205/d60/14bolt - 4.10's, rollbar, factory tach, dual tanks, new radiator, 3" body lift, 4" susp lift, 38" gumbo mudders all for $500... sold my d44 and the 14bolt for $250!!!
