77-79 C60 tach w/ fuel and vac guage cluster

Has anyone ever found one of these with a volt gauge? All I have seen is AMP. I've read that if I use a amp in a post 77 truck it may cause a fire because it should be a volt gauge. Any ways what if I were to use a post 80's gauge cluster from a c60 in a 77-79?

Yeah, don't burn your truck, I'll take it off your hands.


But if you want to use it in your truck, you can either swap the guage or just put a resistor on that AMP meter and it becomes a voltmeter, I need to refresh my memory on how, but that is all the difference.
Obviously if you get the voltmeter from your other truck it would read correctly so that is the easiest.:waytogo:

I don't think it is as simple as replacing the amp gauge with the volt guage. I have a spare volt gauge. The problem also is with the circuit on the back.

Ideally I find a 77-79 C60 guage with vac, combo tach/ fuel, volt, oil and has the 4x4 indicator light. I find sometimes the pre 77 cluster for the c60 but have not found a 77-79 cluster for the c60. All the clusters I've seen in the pre 79 font style have amps.
 
It is as simple as that, the AMP and the VOLT meter do not hook to the circuit, they hook up to wires directly from the truck, so if your truck is already wired for a VOLT, just swap it.
They do get night light from the cluster, but that is it.

I had a couple like that. I have one now that is from an 80s diesel.

But need to swap the posts on the circuit board. There was a post on this on the 67-72 site. Can use the early board, just need to solder a wire on the board.

Do you happen to have a picture of the diesel tach? That might be the one I want to find.
