TN '77 Chalet #1037

In doing a site search of CK5 if I had posted anything about this #1037 rig, I see that I did not back in 2016 when it first showed up on my radar, and the above Craigslist ad was among multiples the seller at that time posted in a valiant attempt to unload what looked like an essentially unrestorable parts pile, a person would never recover the money put into something that would take such a huge restoration effort to get it nice looking and reliably roadworthy. At that time, this first seller was only asking $2 grand for it. Between then and now, not a thing of improvement was done to it, it didn't run then and doesn't run today. A subsequent seller seemed not to be able to sell it from 2017 to 2019, all the while knocking the price down to the last-seen figure of $1200. Then it popped up again at FB Marketplace in mid October this year with an initial asking price of $7500 with water clearly sprayed all over it to make the paint look way better than it actually was. I figured there was no way this latest seller could sell it, but then it shows a $6000 Sold figure at the link that is still functioning as of tonight: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/867045424774207/
Then I get an alert today from two of the eagle-eyed spotters out there who are always on the lookout for these …. how predictable is it these days with all the Facebook social media urban legend hype, we have the latest seller of it asking over double its last sale price while saying how much profit could be made after restoring this one. Worse, he's using several of the last seller's pics that might have misled him to think the overall condition of the rig was better than it was, while adding his own of the strap all the way over the roof, a pretty good indicator that the roof had previously been blown completely off the rig. I didn't catch in in the October listing, the prior owner had huge straps holding down the roof's underside lift bar inside the camper unit.

Wasn't a typo from me about the "over double the last seller's price." In between the time before supper when I got my screengrab of the listing and my post above, the seller edited his asking price down $5 grand.
