I am considering purchasing a 77 Ford F-100 hot rod project with a 460 bb. Does anyone know if this thing is pre-emissions or not? My bottom line is: I live in New Jersey - I need to know if I have to worry about state inspection cause if I do, I won't even bother buying it.

uhhm no 77 was not pre-emissions lol

it will probably have EGR and AIR, along with cat converter originally and fuel tank vapor collection system and PVC system and so forth, 73 was first for egr and 75 was first for cats and 71 begain some tank vapor collection on some vehicles and all of them a few years later 73 or so, AIR is really common on the fords, 77 was right in the middle of alot of different emissions control systems

good luck

it is over 25 yrs old which means it could be registered under QQ plates.. which means no inspection... classic has other restrictions tho, mileage, etc...
