I dont ahve the stock steering column, and I would like to remove the cruise control thing thats bolted onto the fender wall on the drivers side (if thats unclear I can get a pic tomorrow), mostly cause the fender walls come off al lthe time and the easier they are to take on and off the better. Will my speedometer still work and is there anything I have to do/know?

Not sure about 77, but there will be pics of me removing the CC from my 87 sometime this week. From what I can tell on mine, it's nothing but vacuum and electrical connnections that need to be removed, as well as the module from underneath the column. Shouldn't affect your speedo if it's similar to an 87.
