77 K5 Just had to do it

9/16 studs installed. By the time I got it lifted into the air and removed the caliper, hub/rotor I had been working on it for about 15 minutes. So needless to say I was a bit surprised to find these guys.

It was about 70 degrees and they were acting like it was 30 degrees and dorment. They were assimilated.

That CV is uuuuuge. If the rest of the driveshaft is built to that level I think you'll be ok. Just keep it off the rocks.

Besides with a basic small block in front of it, it's going to be bulletproof. Plus you have room to upgrade in the power dept and still be safe. With the 60 up front you really won't have to worry about causing your own destruction.

Time for the wire wheel and the semi-gloss tractor paint. Cleanup is soo much easier. Need to do mine since the last trail ride, but a few bucks at the local car wash and I'm good to go again.

I have the weld in and the bolt in steering box brace to install as well. It was getting dark so I was not able to inspect for cracks yet.

Then you'll be taking the wire wheel to it anyway. You'll be part way there once you get the braces installed.

I've been called in as the muscle to help load your axle tomorrow. See you there dood.

Dang dude! Looking good. On a side note, I'll be up in your area next weekend. Since I destroyed my phone, PM me your number so I can hook up with you then to get the goods to Larry.

I installed my rear lift [ shackle flips, zero rate and add a leaf ] last weekend. I will post post up some pics tomorrow.
Today I went and bought a L29 donor vehicle. 140k miles and well maintained from a local church.

So you got a fresh box of sawzall blades to free the engine from that beast? I'm having visions of the Roadkill episode where they robbed the 440 for general mayhem from the 70's motorhome.
