77 K5 Just had to do it

I remembered you saying there was garbage in the regulator. Sucks you had to replace everything

So... driving home in the Crawlabago tonight I asked myself "Does it get any cooler than this? A fuel injected, big block, 5spd squarebody I can wheel, camp and sleep in"

And then I turned the air conditioning on! Yep it get's cooler. I installed a new a/c compressor, evacuated the system and charged the system at work today. Aprox 48 degrees. It is still a little low on freon and I will add another # tomorrow.

Rub it in why don't you. I'll be soaking my head in the Sweatlodge on the Desert trip and you'll be back there with the rest of old farts with the windows up enjoying cold A/C! This trip is gonna be one for the books. It won't be just me and Larry in the squares, with you and Ian makes 4 squares total. There will be two Dodge/Ram guys, one being a waggy, the other a Cummins/6-speed both with pop up campers. Two Tacos, 4x4 Transit Van, a Land Cruiser, and a possible couple of days on the trail with a certain orange early burb with a Cummins/5-speed swap. Looks like for once the squares will be in the majority vs the minority. It's a pretty diverse group for sure and the largest we've had ever as a group. The cool thing is seeing how the different stuff works. The wildcard is going to be the Transit Van if we get into anything gnarly. Which if we go up Fix It Pass out of the gate it should prove interesting.

Keep at it dude. One more weekend to dial stuff in and then it's go time. We are working out the logistics for heading out that Saturday also and will be in touch on what the plan is. The most simple is to meet up with you in Junction and save you a bunch of miles out of the way just to drive together. From there we can cannonball to Green River as a majestic Convoy of squarebody trucks with campers and one roof top tent hauling ass down I-70 westbound.

Where is Fix It Pass?
About 30 miles west of Green River Utah. It runs parallel to Devil's Racetrack we did in '17.

It's really only one tough spot leading up the pass. Depending on which trail report or YouTube video you watch it's a challenge or got smoothed out last year. Winter weather may have changed it again, but past that one spot it drops into a wash that's easy.

We want a little 4lo action to go with our scenery.

One of these days I hope to do some more Utah exploring.
Yep it's pretty dang cool. No crowds and if it's anything like '17 was we didn't pass anybody but a solo mx rider in two days on those trails north of I-70.

It's like wheeling in a real life road runner and coyote cartoon. I didn't find any acme crates out there that time. I'll keep looking for them though.

My uncle lives in Kanab, so I've always thought it would be easy to base some trips from there.

I forget which thread we're in, are we derailing Ron's thread? :doah: :rotfl:

We went through Kanab in 18 on the way back. Lots of stuff to check out there.

It's CK5 we derail everything.
