77 K5 - What the Heck is this??? Mystery Box in Dashboard

I managed to tear the dash pad off of my 77 K5 yesterday. Nothing too extraordinary while removing the dash pad however I found a mystery object lodged inside the steel dashboard assembly on the passenger side above where the glove box would be. It is a white, cream, colored flat box with a barcode on it. It is located approximately where the windshield meets the bottom edge of the dashboard. I'm pretty sure in 1977 they did not have barcode technology. Does anybody know what this might be?

That is an ECM tray. Looks like someone shoved it in there, I don't see the proper mounting bolts.
 
Fantastic. I'm switching back to an HEI Distributor with manual fuel pump. With that in mind, I won't need that part. I have an electronic fuel pump now... That's going Bye Bye.
 
In a 77? Do you have tbi on your rig?
