77 Step, New DD

gonna leave more or lesssssss alone, for now
Needs shocks and master cylinder to make it safe, so thats all it's going to get for now.

The bad........
dash has one of those chity glue on covers that was done badly. Door panels are aftermarket and broken badly. Most tabs on instrument cluster are broken, so dash bezel pretty much holds it in place, all window seals are shot. Lowered with factory shocks still in place. Master cylinder damp. Wheels, well yeah......

The good.......

Body straight. Paint ok. Runs amazing. Shifts good. Clutch solid. Suspension bushings all good. Tires almost new. Manual brakes and power steering feel solid(-leak)

NO RUST!

I think I have a cluster for a 77. I’ll shoot you some pictures tomorrow if you want.

Should be a cool DD with a little elbow grease

Awesome Mark, I'm going to try to keep interior stock looking. I'm kinda bummed that they cut dash and doors for stereo but I think I can make it ok with the right equipment choices, or maybe I'll just patch the sheet metal.:dunno:

That's badass. 6 hole with a 3 on the tree. That's got a lot of freak out factor that way. But swapping to have more power is fun too. Carry on sir. Have fun with it.

Nice. Once you unfuk those tinted lights, wheels it will be sweet.
I'm a bit partial to the stepside myself. Nice find.

What trans will you pair with the ls?
Either way good to hear your dumping that 6 for a V8.

It'll get the 4l60e from the donor truck. I'm not going to cut the floor for a shifter.

And the lights will get replaced as I can't stand smoked lenses.

I love my daily driver square body so I'm confident you will too! :waytogo:

6 hater...:surepal:

If it had a 292 swapped in vs the basic 250 I'd lobby harder to keep it with a 6. But it's not mine so I got no say in the matter.

Along the lines on the LS swap, since this one is a '77 what's the legalities in Commifornia over doing one. I thought '75 was the cutoff to get away without requiring testing and going to a referee. Or do you just end up putting all the emissions equipment from the swap vehicle into this one?
