77k5 build thread - Wanna Crush a ford taurus? help is needed.

the house is doing good, alot more work up front then expected, but doing good. The pluming is done and I rewired the whole house and upgraded it to 200 amps. I also remodled the master bedroom replaced the water heater and softener, furnace, and all the doors and most of the windows. Right now I'm getting the house ready for solar and wind power.

My blazer is just sitting there taunting me on the side of the house waiting for spring so I can hopefully finish it up. I ended up buying me a 2006 dodge ram 4x4 to get around in for the time being.

Thank you very much man. I was so glad to see the build didn't just disappear all together because of all i had to do to get rid of the proff of what was all done to it. haha

Well It's winter and My Blazer is taunghting me. I need to get started back on this thing. There is so much needed on it and I don't know where to start on it. I need Body work, Tube work, and drive line work.

Anybody out there have any good ideas on what needs to done on this thing and any good shops around here for body and tube work?

Let me know

I'd say get that driveline sorted out 1st so its driveable. Then you can move on to tube and then body work last

the problem i am having with my driveline is really only the driveshafts. New one cost a bit much for me right now and used one's of the length needed are hard to find. lol But I am working on it. I am also looking for hydro-boost brakes.

This how to make a 1800 mile trip across the country. It works great with no problems. I had to remove the 42's to fit it on the trailer. and adjust the straps on the trip here and there because of streach in the straps.
It's held in place by (4) chains and (4) 10,000 lbs ratchet straps. I even had a couple of inches left. here the pics.

well I thought it would be fun to show you guys what it's like to move across the country with a 26 ft budget truck towing a alum. trailer way over wieght with a 1 ton 77 blazer on it and a wife (ex) following in the jeep towing a boat.

We Moved from the big AZ. to Indiana. Let me tell you It was a fun trip scary at times when on the concrete roads because the joints in the road made the 26 ft. budget trucks front end bounce off the ground. It felt like I had Hydrolics in one of those Snoop Dogg vids. lol:haha:

There will be some pics and vids. of the trip so enjoy.

Here we are starting our trip out in the rain. WTF? rain in the desert haha it would have to be on this day. lol

sick k5 by the way. where did you get the front and rear bumpers? damn nice looking. look beefy as hell thanks

I had them custom made by a unkle Als in Bullhead city, AZ. Yes they are very beefed up 1/4 inch thick 1 3/4 inch tubing and the plates are 3/8 inch thick with 1/4 inch thick square 1x2inch tubing. I designed and planed them out fully, they made it work. I love how they turned out. If you want to see how it was done go back in the build and you will see the steps involved.:D

That's right it was after the move what a bum deal.
Anyways i'll be on here soon to do the finishing up stuff on the move. And yes the tornado. sorry guys been pretty busy.

77k5 build thread - I'm back!!!! 5/26/2010

Hey guys, long time no see! its been almost a year sence I was last on here. Sry about that, really. As most of you know i have been dealing with drama central as soon as I moved to Indiana, and My k5 has taken has been abandoned because of it all. Rest to sure I still have no court or ex or city officials was able to take it away, lol. Thank god with all the wrk and money I have put into this thing.

Now I have a new problem and thats money. The current state of our economy has taken its toll, but its time to move forward and at least finish the odds and ends of the stuff purchased and projects started.

My Blazer has peen pulled out from the side of the house out of view to a more respectful spot, in the front of the house on the driveway. It stands tall and proud like it did a few years back awaiting for me to do something about it,lol.:o

There is some clean up work needed from sitting so long. Like my new 4 wheel disc brake system has rust on it. F'en humidity out here is horrible, I miss the west. I also have noticed a descent sized wasp nest inside the cab area and a dead cat up by the motor, lol. I'm sure i am going to have to put a few drops of tranny fluid in the motor and wrk it some so I dont take the chance of craking a ring incase it has some rust inside it. Just odds and ends and alot of clean up. Then it on the finishing the parts of this build i started and try to save some money to continue on and get this thing on the trails.;)
