Ive searched alot of threads, but cant get a straight answer. I just bought a 14bolt FF axle off of ebay from a 78 3/4 ton Suburban. Will the spring perches need to be moved? I thought all 3/4 tons were bolt-ins,but got confused after reading so many threads? Sorry if this is a repeat thread, just wanted to make sure.

If it's going in the '87 Jimmy in your sig. it will bolt in. You will need a conversion u-joint & may need to alter the shock mounts if it's from a 2wd.

thats what I was wanting to hear. I knew I would have to use the conversion joint. I was hoping I wouldnt have to move the spring perches. Its out of a 4WD, so the shock mounts shouldnt have to be moved either. thanks for the reply. I think I got a pretty good deal for $100.

It's not that the shock mounts on a 2wd have to be moved, they're just too long. The shock body hits the axle tube & the bolt holes wont line up.

always learning something new on here. Thats why I love this place. Thanks again for the info
