My 79s both had gas doors, I don't remember the fuse type in my gray truck, but pretty sure my blue truck had glass fuses until I swapped in the 1988 harness.
My 78 was still without the gas door. I think it had the tube fuses, but not positive.
I think some late 78s had the gas door but I'm not sure.
My '78 Burb has exposed gas cap and glass fuses. My '79 K30 has gas doors and blade fuses.
79 was the first year for the gas door, not sure about fuse type.
79 was the first year for fuel tank doors. I was working at a gas station across the street from the Chevrolet house and remember seeing the new 79's with gas doors.
