78 Chevy Bazer Chalet 4x4

Thats aliitle too far for me. Im going to keep my eyes out for one closer sinse I dont have anything to tow one with. I found a 76 blazer with a camper on houston craigslist about 45 minutes from me but he say it is custom not the chalet. This is the link http://houston.craigslist.org/rvs/907593966.html

If you want one and don't want to travel, I can sell you mine delivered.
It's a 76 low miles great running condition, new uphoslstry, needs new carpets in the back and some cleaning as well as some work on the soft top.
Let me know if interested.

Or you can fly out here and drive it home, it's perfectly dependable.

SF Bay (north of Oakland CA) - the seller says it's serial #1560 built 11/76. Call his towing business number, 707-874-3535.

And for full disclosure, I do these favors for the sellers and receive nothing more than the #s & build dates of the rigs....

I prematurely deleted my earlier post about the Homer Alaska one, on the assumption it was actually sold.

**3/13/09 Edit: It is sold now, new owner joined our Chalet owners' / enthusiasts' forum, first link in my sig**

Yet another one in California, this time it's the one (Serial #1595) that's been prominently parked for 6+ years in a car lot in Bishop. Liquidation sale of everything there, bunches of cars and trucks.

This Chalet is an odd one for me because it is neither a '76 or '77 judging from the way standard Chalets were painted (notice the black on the accent trim), but the vinyl stripes on the Blazer part are similar to a '77 spotted in Midland Tx. I don't know that regular Blazers had those particular vinyl stripes. Plus, the camper part's stripes and white color are different from anything us Chalet nuts usually see, but are sorta similar to '78 vintage Toyota Chinooks. So, despite having a serial # in the 15s, this one might have been one of the last to come out of the Chinook/GM deal, if the Blazer really is a '78 and is original to the camper part.

Don't know if you'd care but theres an all orginal 76 chalet in excellant shape In Alamogordo New Mexico it was on the same little used car lot for years and never sold the car lot shut down recently but last time I was down there the blazer was still there I might be able to dig up some info in a month or too or I could make a few calls

PMs sent & received, much obliged. The Googlemobile drove by that area recently, but I couldn't see it. MSN's live search maps are also good for spotting some of these from a couple of years ago. There was a Craigslist Pasadena CA Jimmy Casa Grande listed briefly in January, and by using of a bit of reverse address searching, I could spot it in the Bird's Eye view at MSN. Anyone who wants more info on it, PM me, I think it is still for sale at $6500.

That would be the weirdest phone call to get...

"hello, I'm wondering if you want to sell your chalet?"

"How did you know I had one?"

"I saw it on the google maps/MSN birds eye..."

Well... actually everybody else saw the ground level photo in the Craigslist ad for a short time, and I'm having some fun since I have too much time on my hands. So, all ya have to say when you call is "I heard from a guy at the Chalet Spy Service.. oop, I mean the ck5 forum, that you had a Chalet for sale." :haha:

Is that a chop? Other than the mismatched wheels - its the best looking Chalet I've seen a while.

Nope, it's Wayne's all-black #991 from the Yahoo forum - (apologies to him) Slight narrowing & skewing of the photo to make it more sinister, along with a bit of grayed color. Wayne might have matched up the wheels by now.

Dedicated Chalet/Casa Grande enthusiast, I am.:D

The 6/08 Craigslist ad link in post #5 still works for who knows what reason, and a guy in northern CA says it is still for sale. And, I updated post #s 7, 9, 13 & 17 with new links or photos.

Now for the latest, the seller says it is #418, built 7/76. Little Rock (Benton) Arkansas Craigslist.
**6/1/09 Edit: Sold on eBay for $4,075.**
