78 dome light

Ok so im narrowing down my wiring to have the truck done in a month...

im down to wiring wiper motor and pump (should be done tonight)
front parking lights (thought they were done so have to just check why they are not on)
Dome light

ok so when i took every wire out of my truck... i cut the wires and i know the door pin wires are white and they need to tie to the headlight switch....

so anyone know how to wire one up? i have a bulb that goes on the floor under the dash near the middle... so guess ount that up.... and there is a white and orange wire.....

any help appreciated...


also i think the setup is that when you open the door... the spring loaded doodads... complete the circuit????

from reading on google...

im seeing... that i take the orange wire from my headlight switch... run it down to the bulb on the floor and dome light to give constant power.....
when i looked at my cut headlight switch wires.. i did see 2 orange wires.. i hooked one up to constant power.... so that makes sense.. other to lights and white wires are travelers for ground...

maybe ill get the dome lights and wipers working tonight!!!! if so maybe have truck done in 2 weeks...

got it working..

mounted light which is under dash near passenger side above hump..

ran orange wire back to the headlight switch...
one white wire to drivers side where white wire was for door switch.
one white wire to headlight switch white wire
now the other white wire would go to passenger side but pass side door switch is jammed in.. has been ever since i owned the truck and i dont see the white wire so didnt wire it in...

that was it... all works great... since it is a always hot... open door switch springs out and closes circuit... lights on... i was trying to figure out why the other white runs to the white on the headlight switch.. it is the incab rotate knob and turn on.... so that works... for dome.. i put the orange to the other oranges and the other white to the other whites and they all work great....


so tomorrow is wire wipers and squirters through the oem harness correctly... tie front parking lights to headlight switch
(i already cleaned up the interior light wires)...

then.... got a few red wires i used as grounds as they were handy... swap them out....

start sanding and priming... gonna get paint on this thing....and on the road SOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNN


gonna take it out and BREAK IT!!! it owes me!!!!!!!
