Sorry to hear your changing directions but you're doing the right thing. You can always go back to it if you get things right. "happy wife happy life" been there in the past and luckily I moved on and my fiance is very tolerant of my antics and reckless garage habits.
 
Yep that sucks. I guess I'm lucky that my doesn't say much about my 10 plus cars and trucks laying around.

Hope you can get things figured out with the wife.
 
Been so busy but... egr block off and gasket came in. Easy peasy...

Have yall ever heard of Kroil?.. works great and so far every bolt has come off super easy.

Kroil is a very handy item to keep on hand. It works very well as you've been finding out.

I use kroil and pb blaster they both work very well I find pb works when the rust is super heavy bc it's a catalyst. Have you got all the Manifold studs out? That's where I had the most trouble

Manifold studs? To motor?

Guy i got motor from parted a truck as he buys trucks and parts...



He said looks someone did the upgrade where you remove them and drill/tap to bigger size.

Exhaust manifold had bolts and i removed them all on passenger side.


Everytime i look this motor over i get more mad. Pass side didnt have all bolts in manifold. Drivers does but bolts are diff in each side.

I removed passenger side. I think i misplaced 2... 2 were missing. But bolts look different... well im in bed so ni pic till tomorrow. Ill post 1 of each...


Oh and glad removing egr.. he snapped it...

Good to hear! I think I had 7 or so to weld nuts to and soak for a week. I'm not up sizing tho just putting new studs in bc the headers have small holes etc. Anyway if these broke it would be a good excuse for raylar aluminum heads... :thinking:
 
I will try to post a pic of a can of it Dealerships use it, just can't go buy it in parts store.
